A postdoctoral research position in the laboratory of Dr. Craig Lee in the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy Division of Pharmacotherapy and Experimental Therapeutics (DPET) to study precision medicine and pharmacogenomics. The major scientific focus of the position will be to generate, manage, and analyze data for ongoing and emerging clinical research projects in the Lee Laboratory. The primary project will investigate the impact of genomic and clinical factors on outcomes in cardiovascular disease patients receiving antiplatelet therapy and support expansion of a multicenter observational registry and biobank. Opportunities to contribute to additional research projects focused on novel biomarkers, pharmacogenomic-guided prescribing and precision dosing, as well participate in coursework, professional development and teaching/mentoring activities, will also be available.
Education and Experience:
A strong background in clinical research and data analysis is required. The ideal candidate will have experience studying genetic variation in drug response, possess in-depth knowledge of genomic and pharmacology principles, and be proficient with various data analysis software programs. Excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to work independently as well as a member of an inter-disciplinary team, strong problem-solving skills, and prior experience working with electronic health record data and/or complex datasets are essential. Prior training in genomic and/or pharmacoepidemiology methods is preferred.
