Sarasota Memorial Hospital - Sarasota Campus is our flagship, 895-bed, community-teaching hospital providing a wide range of clinical services and includes our Cancer Institute, Level II Trauma Center and Level III NICU.
ASHP accredited since 1999, the PGY1 program offers flexibility in a variety of practice areas and experience with various advanced technologies. Core rotations include ambulatory care, acute care, antimicrobial stewardship, informatics, internal medicine, leadership, medication safety and pain management. Elective rotations include cardiology, critical care, emergency medicine, infectious diseases, inpatient and outpatient oncology, pediatrics, psychiatry, toxicology and trauma. The program is affiliated with multiple colleges of pharmacy and offers the resident various opportunities for teaching and precepting students as well as participate in a formal teaching certificate program.
Six (6) PGY1 Pharmacy Resident Positions Available
The PGY2 Emergency Medicine residency will transition PGY1 graduates to specialized practitioners qualified to be integrated members of the interdisciplinary EM team. EM Core rotations include EM – Acute Care, EM – Critical Care, EM – Critical Care II/Trauma, Clinical Toxicology, EM – Pediatrics, EM – Independent Practice, Medical ICU and Clinical Administration. Elective rotations are selected from various options including Trauma/Surgery ICU, Cardiovascular ICU, Neuro ICU, ED/ICU Transitions of Care, ID, Critical Care – Evenings, and EM-Overnight. Residents are members of the Toxicology Team and perform antimicrobial stewardship through an EM-based culture review service.
Two (2) PGY2 Emergency Medicine Resident Positions Available
Sarasota Memorial Hospital-Sarasota Campus, with our flagship 895-bed, acute-care hospital and 8-story Brian D. Jellison Cancer Institute Oncology Tower, is the only hospital in Sarasota County providing obstetrical services, pediatrics, Level III neonatal intensive care, psychiatric services for patients of all ages and a Level II Trauma Center.
