Job Summary General Summary Performs the duties of Pharmacy Technician II. Performs quality controls checks of medication orders and doses distributed following established procedures and schedules. Serves as liaison to inpatient units regarding dispensing and distribution of patient medication. Inputs patient medication orders on departmental computer system, ensuring that orders are verified by a pharmacist prior to dispensing.
Principal Duties:
Capable of performing the duties of Pharmacy Tech II plus:
Performs quality controls checks of medication orders and doses distributed following established procedures and schedules.
May input patient medication orders on departmental computer system, ensuring that orders are verified by a pharmacist prior to dispensing.
Provides training to new technicians in job duties, procedures and techniques.
Monitors and documents trainee performance, identifying areas for improvement and reports to designated pharmacist/lead technician and/or pharmacy technician supervisor.
