The Department of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology, College of Pharmacy, University of Minnesota, and AbbVie Inc. offer a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in clinical pharmacology and pharmacometrics. The fellowship will offer didactic and hands-on experience focused on clinical pharmacology approaches to guide drug development and the application of pharmacometrics modeling and simulation techniques.
Primary Duties: -Gain didactic and hands-on experience in clinical pharmacology study design/protocol development, data collection, and data analysis. -Successfully complete selected workshops and courses in pharmacometrics and related areas, to ensure base knowledge of the field. -Participate in multi-disciplinary teams and apply modeling and simulation approaches to forecast PK and outcome measures and guide dose selection -Participate in various research projects with UMN/AbbVie scientists. -Author a minimum of one peer-reviewed poster with preparation if not submission of a manuscript for publication -Made at least one formal presentation to peers at a seminar, workshop or national meeting related to research completed to date

Required Qualifications -PhD, PharmD or MD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, (Bio)Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Medicine, or a related field. -Excellent writing and communications skills. -Ability to work independently and as a member of a diverse interdisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications: -Background in pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. -Experience in conducting clinical pharmacology studies. -Experience utilizing pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic principles and common pharmacometric approaches Experience utilizing tools for quantitative clinical pharmacology such as NONMEM, R, WinNonlin, and Monolix.
