The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for independently administering multiple aspects of the Infusion Pharmacy. Provides comprehensive Outpatient Pharmaceutical Services in the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center and Placer Center for Health, supporting both adult and pediatric infusion centers and ambulatory clinics. Responsible for dispensing and monitoring oncology and non-oncology infusions, investigational drug protocols and various other injectable products. Provides symptom management and medication counseling to patients and oversees sterile product preparation. Oversee sterile compounding of hazardous and non-hazardous drug preparation in the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center Infusion Pharmacy and Placer Center for Health Infusion Pharmacy. Work directly with pharmacy technicians to oversee accuracy or product preparation and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Current and Active CA Pharmacist license.
PGY2 Oncology Residency (or a minimum of 3 years of practice experience in oncology).
Ability to work with, direct and evaluate pharmacy residents and students.
Computer skills that facilitate medication order entry and other basic clinical software programs.
Thorough understanding and competency with aseptic technique and safe handling of hazardous meds.
Knowledge and familiarity of California Board of Pharmacy (BOP) and USP797/800 sterile compounding and hazardous drugs regulations.
Knowledge and capability of sterile compounding.
Board Certified in Oncology Pharmacy certification (BCOP).
Prior experience leading and guiding technicians.
Previous experience with investigational drugs/protocols.
Previous Infusion pharmacy experience.
EPIC / BEACON experience.
The Cancer Center Infusion Pharmacy department provides comprehensive pharmaceutical services (unit dose, IV admixtures, clinical services, infusion pumps and teaching) throughout the Medical Center complex 24 hours per day. The Department is comprised of three inpatient, six outpatient pharmacies, two infusion pharmacies, and the full complement of pharmacy purchasing, stores and distribution. Staffing consists of professional and technical and administrative support personnel.

Rotating shifts: days, weekends, evenings, holidays. Variable hours. Must be able to work in Sacramento and Rocklin Infusion Pharmacies. No smoking on campus. Abide by Departmental attendance standards. Special protective equipment must be used for the required preparation of hazardous substances and spill cleanup. Working knowledge of oncology drugs and IV additive preparation. Working knowledge of non-oncology infusion drugs desired. Computer skills to facilitate electronic prescribing and physician order verification. Working knowledge of basic clinical software programs. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills, communication skills. TB test and blood serum sample required annually per The Joint Commission Standards.
