Job Summary
This position will perform a variety of tasks included but not limited to cleaning, housekeeping and custodial duties in a hospital, clinic, hotel or college campus environment. May be required to clean buildings, offices, patient rooms, various campus facilities, restrooms, lounges, dormitories, classrooms, auditoriums, sports facilities, hallways, exterior/other designated areas, and/or general maintenance throughout the UC Davis Campus, working independently or as part of a team ensuring building security.

UC Davis, Temporary Employment Services (TES) provides temporary staffing to UC Davis Campus and UC Davis Health in Sacramento. Titles and job location will vary depending upon the functions associated with the assignments.

Physical Demands
May be required to perform any of the following:
Manipulate, or assemble objects. Lift, push, pull, or move or maneuver objects. Wear and maintain approved safety equipment such as gloves and eye protection. Stoop, bend, walk and stand for interrupted periods of time. Lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs. May work at heights up to 10 feet with a ladder.
Work Environment
This position is subject to completion of a Pre-Placement Medical Exam provided by Employee Health Services, at no charge to the applicant.
This position is subject to medical surveillance procedures and review in accordance with Federal and State Laws and regulations and University Policy.
Must complete mandatory training, including HIPAA Privacy and Security training, within the first 15 days of your first assignment.
May work with or be exposed to very sick patients and hazardous wastes (e.g., blood, body fluids, bio-hazard, pharmacy waste, chemo waste, needles and other sharp waste).
Must be available to work variable shifts: days/hours (weekends, holidays, overtime, etc.) and float to other units/areas/buildings.
May work alone in buildings; in isolated areas; travel from building to building at night; and /or in a building with heavy traffic.
May work in areas where hazardous materials are present.
A valid CA Driver's License may be required.
This position may require to participate in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Pull Notice System.
May be required to wear uniform and/or protective clothing and/or gear.
Personally responsible for following safety procedures and guidelines.
May be required to operate auto scrubbers, wet vacuums, upholstery shampoo machines, carpet extractors and buffers to maintain floors and furniture.
