Acute care training includes pediatric intensive care (PICU), neonatal intensive care (NICU), infectious diseases and antimicrobial stewardship, inpatient oncology, pediatric general medicine, and pediatric emergency medicine. Ambulatory care includes pediatric oncology, pediatric infectious diseases, and cystic fibrosis. Other experiences include drug information, formulary management, staff development, administration, medication safety, and a major research project.
Mary Bridge has grown from being the only pediatric hospital in the South Sound to a comprehensive regional network of health services for children. From primary care to emergency services, from inpatient care to outpatient specialty clinics throughout the region, Mary Bridge Children's Hospital & Health Network specializes in meeting the health needs of kids.
For three consecutive years, Mary Bridge was one of only 10 children’s hospitals in the nation awarded “Top Children’s Hospital” status by The Leapfrog Group, an independent hospital rating organization.
Mary Bridge is part of MultiCare Health System (MHS), a large healthcare system that serves the South Puget Sound region and Inland Northwest. MHS is recognized as a top Integrated Health Care System and is a national award winner for excellence in the use of health information technology. Pharmacy is highly respected and is supported by decentralization, prescriptive protocols and advanced technology. Pharmacists at Mary Bridge provide clinical support for several specialties throughout the hospital including the emergency department, PICU, general medicine floor, hematology and oncology, antimicrobial stewardship, and pediatric ambulatory infusion. The hospital is located close to a metropolitan area surrounded by mountains and sea offering a variety of cultural and recreational activities.
The emergency department at Mary Bridge has 34 rooms and 2 trauma bays and treats more than 45,000 patient visits annually. Additionally, Mary Bridge is the only level II pediatric trauma center in Washington, and provides regional pediatric trauma care for many counties in western Washington.
