As a PGY2 pharmacy resident, you will further your professional competence, expand your clinical knowledge and develop a philosophy of pharmacy practice in a facility that is committed to providing an exceptional health care experience to its patients.  As part of Stanford Medicine along with Stanford Health Care and Stanford School of Medicine, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital affords residents a first-class setting for exposure to a wide variety of patients and offers numerous opportunities to foster their growth and development as independent practitioners. The program is flexible and allows the resident to focus their experience in a pediatric subspecialty.

Estimated PGY1 stipend: $68,000

Estimated PGY2 stipend: $89,000

Benefits include health, dental, and life insurance, sick leave, and 10 days paid time off. In addition, residents receive travel and educational leave as well as a stipend to attend and participate in clinical presentations for a minimum of two professional meetings.

Eligibility

• PharmD degree from an ACPE-accredited college or school of pharmacy
• Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency program
• California intern pharmacist license in good standing at time of hire
• Eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in California

Residency requirements

• Enrolled full-time in the program for minimum of 52 weeks
• Obtain California RPh licensure within 120 days of the start date
• Complete a minimum of 2/3 of the residency as a licensed pharmacist in California
• Complete BLS and PALS certification
• Prepare and present one drug monograph and one medication use evaluation
• Prepare one adverse drug report
• Complete a minimum of five formal drug information responses
• Present one case presentation or one continuing education
• Complete one journal club presentation
• Participate in one quality improvement project
• Complete one tip of the week
• Submit an article for the pharmacy newsletter
• Complete all staffing and competencies
• Complete all residency evaluations
• Obtain ACHR for all residency goals
• No. level 2 on the competency-based evaluation scale at completion of the residency
• Completion of all required core areas and patient care experiences
• Complete longitudinal research project which includes:
• Platform presentation
• Final manuscript of project suitable for publication
