The PGY-2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy residency is a newly established program in pre-candidate status as of 2023 at a center with 8 other accredited pharmacy residency programs.  Allegheny General Hospital is designated as a level I shock trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, comprehensive cardiac care center, and is an ACPE-provider of continuing pharmacy education.  Residents in this program are provided an environment to enhance their pharmacotherapy skills in a variety of specialized patient populations.  The PGY2 pharmacy residency program builds on Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and PGY1 pharmacy residency programs to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists in specialized areas of practice.
