The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program at UCHealth Parkview Medical Center is an ASHP-accredited, 12 month, full-time postgraduate program that offers experiences with diverse patient populations, a variety of disease states, and a range of patient problems. The program provides an environment that is supportive of learning and training for the resident to achieve the purpose, goals, and objectives of the residency program and to progress over the course of the residency to be more efficient, effective, and able to work independently in providing direct patient care. Residents are required to complete core rotations in order to build a strong knowledge base and have opportunity to select elective rotations in various fields of interest. In addition to rotation experiences, the resident will complete additional activities that are aimed at developing a skilled and competent practitioner. Residents will develop knowledge and skills in four primary competency areas:

Graduate of an ACPE accredited Doctor of Pharmacy Degree Program
Pharmacist License in the state of Colorado obtained within the first 60 days of employment, and active Colorado Pharmacist Intern License prior to that (if applicable)
Successful completion of a background check and drug screen
Parkview does not accept applicants who have a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) Certificate from the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP).

Founded in 1923, UCHealth Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo, Colorado, offers general acute healthcare and health specialty services.
