The PGY1 Community-Based residency program at SwedishAmerican allows the resident to experience a wide range of practice areas including Specialty Pharmacy, Outpatient Pharmacy, Ambulatory Care, Pharmacy Management, Administration, Pharmacy Precepting, Community Outreach and Informatics. Our various outpatient clinics focus on Diabetes Management, Medication Management, Oncology, Hypertension and Anticoagulation. Specialty areas include, but are not limited to, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Crohn's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, HIV, Hepatitis, Hyperlipidemia, Growth Hormone, Asthma, Psoriasis, Hemophilia and Psoriatic Arthritis.
UW Health SwedishAmerican Hospital is a 357-bed, full-service, non-profit hospital serving the greater Rockford region, northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. SwedishAmerican is also a teaching hospital that hosts the University of Illinois College of Medicine's residency program. Clinical pharmacists are assigned to each floor of the hospital, specialty pharmacy, outpatient pharmacy, cancer center, primary care clinics and the pharmacist managed anticoagulation clinic.
