The PGY1 residency program with Tria Health prepares graduates to become a compassionate clinical pharmacist who is competent to manage medications for a wide variety of health conditions throughout the spectrum of a patient’s health journey. Upon completion of the program, the resident will also demonstrate proficient qualities in leadership and practice management, developing, implementing, and evaluating new services, teaching and precepting student pharmacists, dispensing medications and managing a community pharmacy.

Selected activities include:
 - Completing over 800 one-on-one patient appointments per year, on average
    - Appointments include:
        - A to Z drug and disease state review
        - Critical evaluation and optimization of medication therapy
        - Collaboration with providers for continuity of care
 - Emphasis on developing evidence-based communication skills including motivational interviewing
 - Research, quality improvement, and business plan projects with podium presentation at regional residency conference
 - UMKC Teaching Certificate Program
 - Variety of clinical topic evaluations and presentations to clinical and non-clinical staff

Services provided at Albers include vaccinations, travel vaccine consultations and administration, MTM ...services, and non-sterile compounding.
