Sponsored by Long Island University Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy & Heath Sciences (LIU Pharmacy) and located at Brookdale Hospital of One Brooklyn Health, this residency focuses in ambulatory care pharmacy practice across a number of primary care and specialty care settings. The resident will be responsible for functioning under the supervising pharmacists' collaborative drug therapy management agreement across the clinics to provide the highest-quality care to our patients. Core longitudinal rotational experiences include: Medication Management Clinic (asthma, COPD, diabetes, heart failure, hypertension), Anticoagulation Clinic, and Special Treatment and Research Health Center (HIV/Infectious Disease). Additional core longitudinal experiences include: Ambulatory Care Practice Management with community outreach, Research, Academia and Teaching. Longitudinal experience such as Ambulatory Practice Management with community outreach will involve occasional weekend coverage on a rotating basis.
The resident will have various teaching opportunities and responsibilities at LIU Pharmacy, such as leading small group recitations and delivering a didactic lecture. Teaching at Brookdale Hospital of One Brooklyn Health will include in-service presentations, independently precepting APPE students on Ambulatory Care experiences, and co-precepting PGY1 residents while in the clinic. Additionally, the resident has the opportunity to participate in a teaching certificate program offered through LIU Pharmacy.
Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy, completion of ASHP-Accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program, licensure or eligible for licensure in the State of New York, U.S. Citizenship or permanent resident status. The candidate must provide: a letter of intent, curriculum vitae, three letters of recommendation and academic transcripts.
