The Role
The Accounting Manager role reports into McKesson's Global Technical Controllership ("GTC") group, with a focus on international & corporate accounting as an individual contributor and part of the Corporate Controllers organization. Primarily responsible for ensuring timely preparation, accuracy, and integrity of certain corporate entities. This position will be a key contributor in GTC's close process and financial statement preparation.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for month-end close, ensuring the integrity of the General Ledger. Also maintaining supporting schedules or documentation associated with closing journal entries.
- Prepare multi-currency journal entries and complex balance sheet reconciliations to support the close process and ensure they conform to US GAAP.
- Works with the Sr. Manager and Director (IAG) surrounding internal and external financing plans, M&A activity and other corporate driven initiatives, while considering multiple layers of complexity with key stakeholders. Suggests solutions for complex and multifaceted issues associated with these discussions.
- Responsible for supervising the preparation of several statutory audits primarily under UK and Irish GAAP (FRS102). This will include serving as the primary point of contact for all audit queries, managing the relationship with external auditors, preparing draft financial statements, and ensuring that all work is completed within the designated timeframe.
- Works closely with Corporate Tax to oversee the accounting for certain transfer pricing arrangements and intercompany policies as it applies to our international entities.
- Partner's closely with Tax, Legal, Treasury, FP&A and other key functions and Business Units as well as supports the external reporting and audit process.
- Implements and optimizes accounting and reporting processes through available technology, systems and policy.
- Prepares reporting packages for key legal entities and presents results to senior leadership.
Typical Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 7+ years accounting experience
- Active Certified Public Accountant required
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in accounting
Critical Skills
- Experience executing and performing month-end and quarterly close activities in a multi-national organization.
- Ability to work independently, manage, and prioritize various responsibilities.
- Cultivates and maintains a priority around transparency, accuracy, diligence, timeliness, and teamwork.
- Strong cross functional written and communication skills required.
- An inquisitive mindset will be beneficial in this role. Being able to get to the detail but also being able to step back and analyze the bigger picture will be key to developing your career in this space.
- Strong systems skills (e.g., SAP, FCCS, SmartView, and Blackline, preferred)
Education
- Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or related field.

Potential travel on an as needed basis.

Our Base Pay Range for this position
$81,700 - $136,100
