Lipscomb University is looking for a motivated and eager pharmacometric scientist to join the faculty to help advance the education and research mission within the College of Pharmacy by playing a key role in supporting preclinical and clinical drug development research and training efforts in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Center. This position will give you the opportunity to contribute your scientific and technical knowledge to execute model-informed drug development projects and develop curricular content to support the training of students. Candidates are expected to contribute to the education and training of students in the Masters of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MS) graduate program, PharmD-to-PhD Pathway Program, and the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) professional program in the College of Pharmacy at Lipscomb University.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide scientific leadership and conduct pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic modeling and simulation to advise preclinical and clinical projects.
• Develop curricular content to support education and training in pharmacokinetic analysis, pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic modeling, and other model-informed drug development software approaches.
• Utilize other pharmacometric and statistical tools to support project design, execution, and data analysis.
• Train and mentor research students and fellows in mentor-guided.
• Mentor other faculty as well as interact, guide and collaborate with other scientists within academia and the pharmaceutical industry.
• Enhance the reputation and scholarship metrics of the college and the research center through grant submissions and funding, abstracts and posters, presentations, and publications.
• Represent and increase program visibility externally through active leadership in key scientific organizations, industry trade groups, or consortia.

Basic Qualifications:

PhD, PharmD, and/or MD in relevant scientific field such as pharmacokinetics, pharmacometrics, clinical pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, bioengineering, biostatistics.

Additional Skills/Preferences:

Knowledge of relevant modeling and simulation software (e.g. NONMEM, Monolix, R, S-Plus, Phoenix NLME, MATLAB, SIMCYP, Phoenix WinNonLin, etc.). Experience in pharmacokinetics, pharmacometrics, clinical pharmacology, population PK modeling, physiological based pharmacokinetic modeling, exposure-response modeling, and clinical trial simulation.

Established or possesses the potential to establish a competitive and independent research program, and has a strong commitment to the application of pharmacometric modeling tools to address critical questions in pharmacotherapy and/or the pharmaceutical sciences.
