Walgreens and Florida A&M University College of Pharmacy are committed to the postgraduate training opportunity for  pharmacists to enhance their skill set in the community and specialty pharmacy setting and provide care to underserved  populations. The primary residency practice site is a community-based specialty pharmacy in Jacksonville, FL. The pharmacy teams service patients with many disease states including inflammatory conditions, oncology, transplant, and HIV.  The community pharmacists at this site works closely with providers, patients, and the community to provide optimal drug therapy for patients. Additionally, residents gain insights into management issues that can affect the implementation  of patient care services in the community and specialty pharmacy setting.
