Job Description
The Virtualization Engineer, VMware ESXi will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, support, and engineering of enterprise VMware ESXi platforms, supporting infrastructure, and tools. Responsible for all aspects of systems administration, including implementation, configuration, coordination, control, maintenance, problem resolution, testing, usage monitoring, and the development of systems infrastructure within Corporate IT Infrastructure. Additionally, the engineer is responsible for design, technical deployment, troubleshooting, and problem resolution relating to complex systems.
Essential Functions:
Aligns with set roadmaps, develops, and implements plans for Virtualization solutions across on-prem,co-lo, and cloud environments
Engineering and maintenance of on-prem, co-lo, and hosted Virtual Data Centers.
Engineering and maintenance of complex VMware ESXi platforms, supporting infrastructure, and tools
Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
Define and drive risk reduction practices in a scalable manner, working with all levels of CoverMyMeds on access-related items, problem escalation/resolution, people development, and more
Evaluate and test Virtualization products and platforms, make recommendations, develop plans, and implement
Continually seeks ways to automate redundant functions to improve quality and efficiencies of tasks
Documents standards, architecture, implementation procedures, and troubleshooting
Acts as a contact point for vendors during evaluation, implementation, and decommissioning of identity platforms
Keeps management well informed on a timely basis of progress, status, and concerns for each assignment
Effectively communicates ideas and information to peers, management, and customers
Member of on-call rotation
Consistently demonstrates regular, dependable attendance & punctuality
Can perform all duties while working remotely or on-site
Minimum Requirements
Typically requires 4+ years relevant experience
Critical Skills
3+ years' experience managing VMware ESXi Virtual Data Centers
3+ years' experience with On-prem and Cloud designs of Virtualization solutions
Understanding of VMware Network Virtualization technologies (NSX-V, NSX-T)
Understanding of VMware VSAN, VCD, VROPS, VRA, Loginsight, SkyLine, PowerCLI, ESXTOP technologies
Technical experience with data center hardware and technologies
Additional Skills
Firm understanding of VMware systems backup & recovery
Working knowledge of Server Operating Systems, database platforms, source control, storage area networks, and enterprise networks
VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization or equivalent
Working knowledge of Microsoft Server OS/Red Hat/OEL/CentOS Linux would also be favorable
Detailed knowledge of basic infrastructure services: RDP, WMI, SMTP, DNS, FTP, NTP, SSH, LDAP, Kerberos, TLS, SSL, HTTP, and SNMP
Technical Experience in the following are beneficial: Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, container orchestration, RVTools, GCP, and Azure
Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong leadership profile and excellent negotiation skills
Strong presentation and written and verbal communication skills
Ability to effectively communicate technical issues and solutions to all levels of business
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
Education
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience in Information Security, Information Technology or related fields OR equivalent experience

In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.
Our Base Pay Range for this position
$88,500 - $147,500
