Thank you for your interest in the Massachusetts State Office for Pharmacy Services (SOPS) PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program, in partnership with Cardinal Health. Our program is fully accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), and we are proud to offer a unique opportunity to experience clinical, operational, and administrative health-system pharmacy practice and medication management at different institutions and agencies within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Primary training sites for the residency will include Lemuel Shattuck Hospital and Tewksbury Hospital within the Department of Public Health (DPH), Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital within the Department of Mental Health (DMH), the Chelsea Soldiers’ Home, and the Pharmacy Distribution Center. Training may also occur at additional sites within the DPH, DMH, Department of Developmental Services (DDS), and Soldiers’ Homes. Our experienced team of credentialed preceptors are highly dedicated to resident and program development, as well as continuous quality improvement. They serve as mentors for residents throughout the year and are committed to adhering to accreditation standards set forth by ASHP.
The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program has a successful history of developing independent pharmacists capable of practicing in a variety of advanced environments upon graduation from the program. Former PGY1 Pharmacy Residents have successfully obtained positions in clinical pharmacy practice, pharmacy operations, health-system pharmacy administration, academia, or advanced PGY2 training in a specialized area of practice.
Successful completion of PharmD degree, and a complete application including transcripts.
