With over 9,000 patients treated annually, you'll gain hands-on experience across a wide spectrum of disciplines and breeds. No two days are the same!

3. Expert Mentorship: Your personalized mentorship experience includes daily stall side rounds, case reviews, and weekly webinars with interns from various practices. You'll work closely with all our doctors, rotating through two-week blocks to gain a well-rounded skill set. We also collaborate with specialists in Ophthalmology, Rehabilitation, Radiology, Oncology, and Equine Dentistry to broaden our knowledge.

4. Varied Settings: While primarily based in Navasota, you'll have the opportunity to spend time at our Salado or Waco hospitals, attend horse shows, and work with our ambulatory outpatient lameness service. This diverse exposure ensures you're prepared for all facets of equine veterinary care.

5. Gradual Independence: Your level of supervision will adapt to your experience, allowing you to grow throughout the year. From in-house appointments to emergency cases, you'll progressively handle various responsibilities under direct or indirect supervision.

• Management of inpatients: 30%
• Outpatient examinations: 30%
• Ambulatory calls: 20%
• Surgery assistance: 10%
• Anesthesia: 5%
• Night duties: 5% (including intensive care monitoring and emergency assistance)

Manage Cases Overnight: Our interns play a vital role in providing 24/7 care to our equine patients. While licensed technicians handle routine treatments, you'll be responsible for managing cases during night duties, including intensive care monitoring and assisting with emergencies.

As a first job after veterinary school, our programs will provide you a solid foundation to be a success.

Applicants should be graduating or recently graduated from Veterinary School.

Internship applicants should have general experience in equine medicine and surgery, and basic knowledge of horsemanship. The ability to work as a team, a positive attitude, and people skills are a requirement.

A prior visit/externship and interview is strongly encouraged. A personal meeting is weighted the most when considering applicants.

A decision will be made as soon as excellent candidates are identified.
