Summary of Position: This position will provide leadership, coordination and support for majororganizational initiatives in the College.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 25% Leadership â— Lead and impact specific academic and administrative initiatives that advance the mission and/or operations of the CoP . This requires identifying the goals of engagement, building relationships within and without the institution to help meet those goals, creating the appropriate (infra)structures to accomplish those goals, and leading/shepherding the process for success. â— Represent the College of Pharmacy with multiple and diverse internal and external constituencies including community, state, national, and international forums â— Utilize independent judgment, diplomacy, and executive decision-making to triage communications â— Serve as a University citizen and leader on campus or system-wide committees and teams as appropriate.
60% Coordination of Strategic Initiatives Organizes and paces team-based work on key strategic initiatives of the College and supports others in applying project leadership and management principles to collegiate work. This will include: â— With senior leaders and faculty responsible for defined strategic initiatives, develops initial plans for implementation team formation and readiness â— Serves as a project coordinator for complex, collegiate-level strategic initiatives â— Supports organizational learning and engagement with documentation and reporting of initiatives aligned with the College’s strategic plan â— Contributes to communications activities related to strategic initiatives, including branding, presentations and website development for strategic initiatives â— Facilitates staff and faculty development initiatives aimed at supporting initiative implementation â— Monitor and summarize progress on the on key strategic initiatives in the College
15% Miscellaneous â— Duties as assigned â— Serve as a lead trainer for college-wide professional development initiatives â— Professional development for self and co-workers
Supervision: This position will work directly with leaders throughout the university and external to the university, graduate students and pharmacy practice residents.
Working Conditions: -The majority of the work in this position is performed in a general office setting. -This position will require significant communication and collaboration with individuals via phone and/or video conferencing. -This position may require local travel to meetings hosted within Minnesota-based health care systems. -This position may require out-of-state travel, requiring approximately 5-10 travel days per year.
Required Qualifications: -Bachelor’s degree with at least eight years of relevant professional experience, including experience managing multiple high-profile projects -Experience leading strategic initiatives and teaching project management principles -Computer competences including Microsoft Office, word processing, databases, spreadsheets and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment. -Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and adaptability to meet changing demands -Demonstrated abilities to work professionally and collaboratively with staff, faculty, administrators and people of diverse backgrounds while executing position responsibilities with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications: -Experience in higher education, non-profit, or public sector -Knowledge typically acquired through completion of a Doctor of Pharmacy degree program or professional work experience in a pharmacy setting -Strong interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills -Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise discretion, and manage multiple priorities at once -Familiarity with the health care community in Minnesota
