Thank you for your interest in our PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program. The PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Ocean University Medical Center is an extensive 12-month program designed to develop a confident, well-rounded and independent pharmacy practitioner. Our program is designed to incorporate the interests and goals of the individual resident while ensuring a broad hospital pharmacy practice experience in a community teaching setting. The resident will be exposed to a wide variety of patient care areas through robust core learning experiences and will become an integral part of the interdisciplinary teams.
The structure and curriculum of our residency program provides the residents with a wide range of experiences which includes a diverse patient population and a variety of disease states.
The residents will be scheduled for 7 required learning experiences which includes orientation.
Additionally, ther residents will be able to select 3 elective learning experiences of their choice.
Each rotation is scheduled for 5 weeks with an exception of one elective which will be 4 weeks in length.
The residents will take part in the 5 required longitudinal learning experiences throughout the residency year.
The resident will have two one-week project blocks to work on their Medication Usage Evaluation (MUE) and Major project.

To be considered for a PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at Ocean Medical Center, you must:
Have obtained a Pharm.D. from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy by July 1st.
Be eligible for licensure as a registered pharmacist in the state of New Jersey.
Provide identification of US Citizenship or Permanent Residence Status.
Be enrolled in the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Residency Matching Program.
Applicants may register for the matching program via www.natmatch.com/ashprmp.
Submit the required materials in PhORCAS by the January 5th deadline.
