UF Health Shands Hospital is externally recruiting actively for our PGY2 ASHP-accredited specialized residency programs in Critical Care, Infectious Diseases, and Solid Organ Transplant (new program) for the 2022– 2023 residency year.

PGY2 Critical Care:The residency in Critical Care at UF Health Shands is designed to provide the resident specialized training in the delivery of pharmaceutical care to critically ill patients. The 12-month program is intended to prepare the resident for independent practice in the intensive care setting through direct patient care, didactic learning, and completion of longitudinal research. The resident has the opportunity to rotate through up to nine specialized adult intensive care units, the Adult Emergency/Level-I Trauma center, and a number of other elective opportunities.

PGY2 Infectious Diseases: The residency in Infectious Diseases at UF Health Shands Hospital is designed to provide specialized training in the delivery of effective antimicrobial therapy to diverse patient populations and prepare the resident for independent practice as an infectious diseases specialist. During the 12-month program, the resident develops clinical practice skills through direct patient care and didactic learning. Teaching and research skills are developed. Services areas covered include nine Intensive Care Units, Bone Marrow and Organ Transplantation, Neurosurgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery.
PGY2 Solid Organ Transplant: The residency in Solid Organ Transplant at UF Health Shands Hospital is a new program starting 2023 - 2024 residency year. During the 12-month program, the resident develops clinical practice skills through direct patient care and didactic learning. Teaching and research skills are developed. Services areas covered include abdominal (kidney/liver), lung, and heart transplant.
