In compliance with applicable State regulatory authorities, COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory for all MSK staff. Staff are considered fully vaccinated upon completion of a primary vaccination series for COVID-19 (i.e., one dose of a single dose vaccine or a final dose of a multi-dose vaccine series). Exceptions from the COVID-19 vaccine requirement are permitted for those who request and receive an approved medical or fully remote exemption. Requests for medical exemption can take up to two weeks to review. Vaccination or an approved medical exemption is required to start work.
*Staff working at a MSK New Jersey location must be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, which includes having completed the primary COVID-19 vaccination series and booster once eligible as mandated by New Jersey State. All New Jersey staff not yet eligible for a booster must receive a booster within 3 weeks of becoming eligible as a condition of continued employment at MSK.
Note: Individuals are eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster two months after completion of a primary vaccination series for COVID-19. Because vaccine-induced immunity can wane over time, MSK continues to strongly urge all staff to get a COVID-19 booster as soon as they become eligible to maintain their protective immunity for a longer period.
The Pharmacy Department uses a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, where the emphasis is on therapeutic efficacy and safety. We provide comprehensive, clinical and dispensing services in both inpatient and ambulatory care settings through a decentralized satellite pharmacy services model. The department has one of the most robust set of electronic clinical resources in the country and a dynamic medication safety program.
Across the Center, we review 1.5 million orders per year and dispense over three million doses of medication annually. The Pharmacy Department has more than 450 employees with approximately 300 pharmacists servicing patients in 26 pharmacy satellites, including inpatient unit-based satellites in all oncological specialties.
Memorial Sloan Kettering provides free, live, onsite, accredited continuing education pharmacy courses to help keep your credentials up to date. The department will also sponsor national and state membership for pharmacy organizations and appropriate off-site informative meetings. We are seeking a Pharmacist to lead our MSK Monmouth Team.
The Pharmacy Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day activities and Pharmacy Services provided at the site. The Manager will ensure efficient and cost effective operations, quality service and regulatory compliance. The Manager will also represent the MSK Monmouth Pharmacy team as a liaison with other departments and will serve as the Pharmacist in Charge.
Able to problem-solve operational, personnel, and patient issues
Diligent and willing to adapt to changes in workflow to improve patient care
A fast learner who can efficiently and accurately evaluate new information with new non-chemotherapy and chemotherapy agents being approved every few months and new protocols opening frequently
Able to make sound decisions, even in the absence of complete information
Highly motivated and able to work well with others
Troubleshoot and problem tackle issues independently
Participate in process improvement initiatives
Inventory control & drug shortage management
Multidisciplinary practice committees & QA activities
Schedule development & payroll activities
PharmD (or equivalent)
NJ Pharmacy license
Confirmed experience in Chemotherapy Operations and Managerial experience (preferred)
Prior retail pharmacy experience beneficial
IV compounding experience (preferred)
Hours of operation are as early as 7 AM and as late as 10 PM.
Saturday operations are 8 AM - 6 PM
