The Endocrine Ambulatory Care Clinical Pharmacist Specialist accomplishes direct patient-care responsibilities through planning, implementing, evaluating, and monitoring the medication use for patients of their clinic(s) both through prospective collaboration with other providers in care of the patient and independently under the scope of collaborative practice agreements. While individual clinic populations will vary, focal points of clinical services and patient care include diabetes management & insulin resistance, thyroid and parathyroid disorders, and pituitary disease, among others. The Ambulatory Care Clinical Pharmacist Specialist advocates for the advancement of clinical pharmacy practice by way of continual quality improvement projects, creation and dissemination of educational content, and teaching and training of pharmacy and medical learners. Additionally, the Ambulatory Care Clinical Pharmacist Specialist collaborates with pharmacy leadership in the design and implementation of strategic plans for the service line, including targeted clinical and financial outcomes.
The Ambulatory Care Clinical Pharmacist Specialist provides pharmaceutical care to patients in accordance with federal, state, local regulations, and health-system policies. This position works in collaboration with pharmacy leadership, pharmacy, medical, and ancillary staff to ensure safe, cost effective, and appropriate use of medications for patients within their service line.
TriHealth is currently recruiting for two positions for the endocrine service line. One position will be based out of a clinic in Montgomery and one will be at the TriHealth Western Ridge campus.
PGY1 or equivalent experience - REQUIRED; PGY2 - DESIRED; BPS Certification in Ambulatory Care or Pharmacotherapy - DESIRED (required to obtain within 2 years)
TriHealth Pharmacy is deeply integrated into all facets of acute care throughout our five-hospital system, and is rapidly expanding clinical services into the ambulatory care space. The pharmacy enterprise currently includes distinct service lines of:

The entire service line includes over 300 pharmacists and technicians. Our next goals of expansion include the recruitment of highly-qualified candidates for ambulatory care endocrine specialist pharmacist positions as well as a system-level neurosciences clinical coordinator.
