PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residency
This PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residency Program at Allegheny General Hospital was established in 1996 and was most recently re-accredited by ASHP in 2021. The program emphasizes the integrated approach to the application of advanced clinical skills. The PGY2 pharmacy residency program builds on Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and PGY1 pharmacy residency programs to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists in specialized areas of practice. PGY2 residencies provide residents with opportunities to function independently as practitioners by conceptualizing and integrating accumulated experiences and knowledge, and incorporating both in the into the provision of patient care that improves medication therapy.
