The Moores Cancer Center is one of just 52 NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the United States and the only one in San Diego County. Independently administers and develops moderately complex software systems, web-based applications, and data resources in a medium to large-scale computing environment, which requires advanced knowledge of software and development tools related to database development. Provides programming leadership and oversight of both architectural design and application development to other staff, for evolving web applications and relational database infrastructure. Develop and maintain User/System documentation, specifications, debugging guidelines, and operational procedures. Independently perform database administration functions with SQL Server and FileMaker Server. Design and create SQL stored procedures, functions, and views to automate advanced reporting requirements. Participate in the development of procedures and documentation.
Seven years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related area plus three years of related experience/training.
Demonstrated experience with database administration. Working knowledge of database management systems and standards. Knowledge relating to database system design. Advanced database querying and modeling skills working with moderately complex databases. Knowledge and experience in designing and implementing complex client/server relational database models preferably in FileMaker Pro Server, MSSQL and MySQL, in a multi-platform environment (UNIX, Mac OS and Windows). Knowledge of JDBC and ODBC connectivity.
