Job Description: The Assistant Dean of Admissions and Student Experience in the School of Pharmacy & Physician Assistant Studies provides leadership and has management and implementation responsibility for pharmacy and physician assistant student recruitment, admission and enrollment strategies as well as School-wide matters related to student and alumni affairs and community engagement. The Assistant Dean is accountable for achieving enrollment goals (approx. 50 students for each program); providing leadership, direction, and administrative oversight for all nonacademic School of Pharmacy & Physician Assistant Studies related student affairs; establishing alumni engagement strategies; and hiring, training, and supervision of relevant staff. The appointee must exhibit a high and continually-increasing knowledge of best practices related to job responsibilities, office operations, University product knowledge, and effective sales and service techniques.
The Assistant Dean serves as a key member of the Dean's Leadership team to establish, implement, and assess strategic enrollment management efforts to recruit and retain a diverse, qualified student body; develop and implement activities related to student services, alumni relationship and development; and provide oversight and direction for student service and co-curricular requirements. Working with staff from other divisions, the Director is responsible for the coordination, implementation, and assessment of the School's new student orientation and onboarding
The Assistant Dean works in consultation with the Dean as well as collaboratively with the university's offices of Enrollment Management, Marketing, Student Life, and Institutional Advancement to optimize use of resources and ensure consistent branding.
Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to)
- Serves as the lead administrator for student recruitment and has management and implementation responsibility for Pharmacy and PA recruitment and admission strategies and initiatives and ultimate oversight of School of Pharmacy & Physician Assistant Studies Admissions operations including admission marketing, outreach, and communications.
- Provide leadership, vision and direction for activities and services that enhance SOPPA students' experiences, engagement, retention and graduation employment outcomes;
- Develop, implement and assess programs and services designed to engage alumni in a substantive, purposeful and productive relationship with the school
- Provide leadership and guidance in analysis, review, creation and interpretation of non-academic student policies and procedures
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders to sustain healthy, long-term relationships with existing community partners and to cultivate new partnerships with local and regional organizations
- Develop and be fiscally responsible for a recruitment program that will successfully achieve a quality, culturally diverse student body to support and promote high academic achievement for classes in the School of Pharmacy and PA Studies.
- Work with the Director for Marketing to design and implement effective admission marketing strategies, communications, materials, and campaigns to attract and enroll a diverse, qualified student body.
- Hire, train, supervise, motivate, and supports the relevant staff and ensure consistent quality of service by all members of the team and ensure a cohesive team.
- Clearly, accurately, and enthusiastically articulate information about the School and its programs, admissions criteria, financial aid, and student life and is responsible for ensuring that all School product knowledge is accurate and effectively articulated by Admissions staff.
- Work closely with the faculty and admission committees to develop and implement admission policies and drive admission practices to effectively meet enrollment goals.
- Direct the admission application process and ensure effective, compliant, and cohesive integration of all elements of the recruitment operation as well proper and efficient use of university's CRM.
- Responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation, and assessment of School 's programs new Student Orientation programs.
- Create and support an environment that promotes the growth and development of students and facilitates open communication and information sharing between students and faculty/administration
- Identify and cultivate relationships with internal and external constituencies; develop and maintain a strong working relationships with faculty, staff, and other senior administrators, and seek to establish new partnerships to impact recruitment and retention.
- Interface routinely with the University's Office of Institutional Advancement to align alumni engagement efforts
- Serve as a primary recruitment/admission and retention liaison to the University's office of enrollment management
- Prepare and monitor comparative admissions and enrollment data on a regular basis to keep the Dean informed and to make well-informed decisions.
- Research, document, and recommend best practices for professional student recruitment and admissions policies and procedures
Job Requirements:- Master's degree required, Doctoral degree preferred
- Significant experience in higher education communications, strategic planning, data analysis, marketing, and personnel supervision and management.
- Experience in pharmacy/PA admissions or related professional program preferred
- Experience in student affairs preferred
- Five years of progressive experience working in a higher education setting, at the supervisory level, preferably with students or in admissions.
- Demonstrated success in meeting quantitative and qualitative recruitment goals in a rapidly changing environment.

- Proficient computer skills, including working with Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, the Internet, and other programs as needed. Familiarity with specific applications used by the University and the Office of Admissions a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate and to work comfortably with students, colleagues, and internal and external constituents, including diverse populations.
- Professional, courteous demeanor and appearance and the ability to work professionally with students, faculty, staff, and administration and to professionally represent the University to the public.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize and appropriately handle matters of a confidential nature.
- Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel using a personal and/or rental car for recruiting purposes.

Additional Information:The anticipated salary for this position is $80,000 to $90,000. The final offer will be based on the successful candidate's qualification and experience.
