Position Summary

This position leads operationalizing and supporting essential departmental systems and solutions resources throughout all areas of Pharmacy Services. As a leader within the pharmacy, this individual is responsible for working with other pharmacy leaders to prioritize, plan and appropriately allocate resources needed to meet key department information systems and technology initiatives. This role works collaboratively with PCH Information Technology leaders to coordinate and communicate joint efforts to align strategies and execution tactics. This leader supervises and directs pharmacy staff who assist with the ongoing maintenance and optimization of departmental systems and solutions that support operations and patient care. The Pharmacy Systems and Solutions Manager reports directly to the Vice President Chief Pharmacy Officer.

Education

• Bachelors Degree (BS) or Doctoral Degree (Pharm.D) in Pharmacy. (Required)
• Completion of a post-graduate year 1 (PGY-1) and/or PGY-2 in pharmacy informatics pharmacy residency program accredited by ASHP or similar experience. (Preferred)
• Master`s Degree in healthcare informatics or other applicable healthcare area. (Preferred)

Experience

• Five (5) years of progressive pharmacy practice experience within an acute care environment to include a minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience with direct reports. (Required)
• Two (2) years of clinical pharmacy informatics experience. (Required)
• Previous experience working in a pediatric pharmacy environment or equivalent. (Preferred)

Certifications

• Current licensure or eligible as a Pharmacist either by reciprocity or examination by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy. (Required)

• Ability to organize initiatives and prioritize tasks while taking direction from multiple leaders throughout the organization. (Required)
• Experience with the utilization, teaching, implementation and optimization of an electronic health record, clinical pharmacy documentation systems, pharmacy automation, smart infusion pumps and other ancillary hardware and software used to support the pharmacy practice. (Required)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other departmental hardware/software solutions. (Required)
• Ability to comprehend and analyze information, problem solve and use independent judgment. (Required)
• Ability to provide mentorship to staff in order to support growth and development of future leaders. (Required)
• Ability to identify new opportunities for change while optimizing historical practices and processes. (Required)
