As a part of Optum, OptumCare is seeking a Vice-President, Pharmacy Services to join our leadership team. The VP of Pharmacy Services is a member of the clinical performance leadership team, and will be accountable primarily for the following:

The Vice-President, Pharmacy Services will report to the SVP of Clinical Transformation and will be the primary interface with leadership, health plans, and state regulators in the areas of program development, utilization, and quality management of Pharmacy. The VP provides Enterprise wide oversight to ensure all pharmacy programs and activities are appropriately integrated into strategic direction and operations as well as the mission and values of the company and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

Position Highlights:

Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and grow a team of Pharmacists and related staff Enterprise wide (anticipated to include 35-40 direct reports)
- Establish and lead a national Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee
- Provide leadership and oversight of all pharmacy programs and operations
- Develop and support implementation of pharmacy programs across the enterprise
- Manage through influence > 10 individual business units as they approach Pharmacy related services
- Actively support the Clinical Affordability Portfolio team in advancing local, federated and enterprise clinical initiatives, projects, and programs; with direct accountability for successful implementation and achieving affordability targets
- Develop/build strong working relationships with other departments within the company that interface with Pharmacy initiatives, as well as associated vendors
- Assist contracting and network management in evaluation and establishment of enhanced capabilities for drug sourcing and pricing, and optimal site of service delivery
- Represent OptumCare vision and interests within the group purchasing program, supporting work to develop enterprise capabilities
- Analyze data to offer recommendations to streamline and increase efficiency in existing and related programs
- Maintain strong partnership with Care Delivery Organizations to execute on enterprise Pharmacy strategy and objectives within their respective markets
- Provide quality oversight to Pharmacy programs to ensure regulatory compliance
- Support budget/forecast for pharmacy initiatives and implements plans to achieve budgetary goals
- Performs other related duties as required

Required Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree
- Active, unrestricted Registered Pharmacist license in any state
- 5+ years of experience as a clinical pharmacist
- 5+ years of medical management experience with IPAs, medical groups, or HMOs
- 5+ years of experience in leading pharmacy staff
- 3+ years of experience with Medicare guidelines
- Experience leading a Pharmaceutical and Therapeutics committee across multiple products and lines of business
- Experience working in a highly matrixed organization and balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders, easily develops rapport, trust, and relationships
- Experience and ability working with executives and clinicians as well as the skills to develop effective working relationships with staff in various departments
- Experience working with provider relations, working within various payors environments, and risk management
- Solid understanding of clinical pharmacy programs, with emphasis on program development, implementation, and delivery
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to travel as necessary up to 50-60% travel

Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Geriatric Pharmacist
- Board certification by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS)
- Experience developing and implementing pharmacy affordability initiatives
- Experience establishing a pharmacy and therapeutics committee
- Excellent presentation skills, with experience effectively presenting information to senior leadership, including content development
- Outstanding strategic planning, analytic and communications ability
- Ability to work independently and within a team, excellent coaching skills
- Planning and organizational skills to demonstrate leadership and initiative
- Strong interpersonal skills
