Java Developer for Genetic Research
About the JobThe candidate will be responsible for developing open-source software to analyze genetic data, specifically large deletions and duplications in the genome that can knock out entire genes. We will then apply this software to hundreds of thousands of human samples with genome-wide data to identify if these natural gene knockouts affect certain traits or the risk for specific disease outcomes.  This position is in the laboratory of Dr. Nathan Pankratz within the Division of Computational Pathology at the University of Minnesota. The lab currently has seven full time software programmers and data analysts.
