Responsible for handling all security and safety issues for the entire campus involving multiple buildings, athletic fields/facilities, and roadways. Develop and implement policies in compliance with Academy, Diocese, and New Jersey Department of Education. Coordinate as appropriate with local school board and with local law enforcement. The candidate should possess excellent communication/presentation skills and an ability to work effectively with students and all levels of administration, faculty/staff, and volunteers. Strong time management and multi-tasking skills are required.
Develop and implement crisis preparedness plan; conduct drills.
Knowledgeable on cybersecurity threats and policies.
Handle SAM (Sexual Abuse and Misconduct) risk management.
Onboard new employees – background checks, fingerprinting, training for drills, Virtus training (Protecting God’s Children), access cards, vehicle registration.
Interact with students – present crisis plan/drill; provide access cards; register vehicles.
Maintain all security systems – software, access, and surveillance.
Conduct security tours and scans for hidden cameras.
Supervise daily traffic patterns and control (for large events) as well as safe pedestrian passage.
