The purpose of the PGY2 Ambulatory Care program is to develop a well-rounded independent ambulatory care practitioner able to provide high-level clinical services in a variety of settings. The resident will develop skills in managing drug therapy for patients with multiple disease states, educating students, residents, and other healthcare professionals, and conducting clinical research. At the residency completion, graduates exit equipped to be fully integrated members of the interdisciplinary team, able to make complex medication recommendations in the ambulatory care environment for a variety of patient populations.

The St. Vincent’s Pharmacy Residency PGY1 Program was established in 2006. In 2017, we expanded by providing a PGY2 program in critical care. We currently offer five PGY1 positions and one PGY2 critical care position that are fully accredited by ASHP. Our residency programs are customized to each residents career goals and are designed to develop advanced knowledge to provide high level pharmaceutical care. We have dedicated preceptors that have received certification in a variety of Board of Pharmacy Specialties including: ambulatory care, cardiology, critical care, infectious diseases, nutrition support, oncology and pharmacotherapy. In addition, we have a well developed resident research program that has been published in multiple peer reviewed journals.
