Summary University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of full time LC-MS/MS / NMR research technician within the Center for Clinical Pharmacology. The Center is a collaborative between Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis - Department of Anesthesiology and the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St Louis. We are seeking a highly motivated research technician to manage growing LC-MS/MS and NMR core facilities within a comprehensive drug discovery program. CCP is involved in highly interdisciplinary research program, which covers medicinal chemistry, structural biology, biochemical and biophysical assays, and biological studies.
Prepare biological samples for analysis by LC-MS/MS
Operate LC-MS/MS instrumentation SCIEX Triple Quad 5500+ system - QTRAP Ready link to ExionLC AD - HPLC system.
Review data generated by LC-MS/MS instrumentation and report results
Assist with training new staff on sample preparation, LC-MS/MS operation, and data review
Assist with method development of for quantitation of drugs on an LC-MS/MS
Provide expertise in drug metabolism particularly to targeting nuclear receptors and GPCRs.
Perform common laboratory techniques and sterile cell culture techniques
Maintain outstanding attention to detail
Operate, perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation
Train and supervise technicians in operation of pharmacokinetic methods and measurements
Manage daily operations of LC-MS/MS pharmacokinetics core
Manage maintenance for 500 MHz NMR instrument
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Interact with multidisciplinary teams (biology, chemistry, medicinal chemistry)
BS/BA in field of Science such as Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry or Engineering OR equivalent experience.
1+ years experience operating a SCIEX Triple Quad 5500+ system QTRAP Ready link to ExionLC AD - HPLC system instrument and reviewing data using SCIEX OS and Analyst software. ABSciex experience and certification mandatory.
Familiarity with 500 MHz NMR instrument
1+ years experience in a biological laboratory environment, included sterile tissue culture laboratory.
1+ years experience in management and Supplier auditing experience desired
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Access), Database Creation with Access desired.
Experience with statistical tools including basic statistical inference and graphical methods. Experience with Phoenix software and Knowledge in Python preferred.
Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
Experience with managing staff
Demonstrates ability to prioritize, pro-actively work independently and collaboratively with other cross-site employees.
Experience working in a multidisciplinary laboratory including medicinal chemistry, structural biology and pharmacology
