Duquesne University Center for Integrative Health Projects aim to decrease health disparities and promote health equity, and the incumbent should possess knowledge and experience in addressing social determinants of health, asthma, cardiovascular disease, substance use disorder, and behavioral health. This person will engage with a diverse group of stakeholders within and outside the University and must have excellent communication skills. This person will provide oversight for day-to-day research activities, identify new funding opportunities and develop grant proposals, and facilitate reporting on awarded projects. The Research Manager will coordinate and oversee research meetings and be responsible for overseeing all Institutional Review Board protocols. The Research Project Manager will also be responsible for mentoring research coordinators and students. This position requires excellent organization skills and considerable exercise of initiative and independent judgement.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works with the Director to implement the Center’s vision and strategic plan and identify opportunities for growth. Provides support, goal setting and oversight for project coordinators in program implementation, tracking progress with recruitment goals, meeting project deliverables, and drafting reports. Looks for areas of process improvement, and direct available resources and personnel to accomplish this.
Identifies new funding opportunities and assist with development of grant proposals. File required funding reports related to budget and project status in a timely manner. Develops presentations and publications independently and support CIH staff to reach presentation/publication goals.
Attends compliance trainings and ensure adherence to University and Sponsor standards of conduct, policies and procedures. Coordinates and tracks compliance with all regulatory trainings and standards. Provides oversight of and ensure compliance with all Institutional Review Board protocols.
Develops and implements staff training and development strategies to ensure ethical, regulatory and protocol compliance.
Assists the Director with planning an annual symposium.
Directs, supervises and mentors research students.
Provides requested ad hoc support.
Performs other related job duties as assigned by the Director for the Center for Integrative Health.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and/or business school with major course work in accounting, finance or business administration field and 3 to 5 years relevant work experience.
A minimum of 3 to 5 years relevant research experience.
Evidence of being self-motivated and take initiative and a foresight and work with autonomy.
Evidence of excellent time management skills.
Evidence of experience to be proficient at collaborating and communicating with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and researchers experience.
Skillful in understanding the needs of a diverse group of stakeholders.
Experience in a higher education setting is preferred.
