The Sr Director, Pharmacy Engagement for Health Mart Atlas is responsible for developing and maintaining a high-quality pharmacy member support team, that drives both clinical and financial performance of our Health Mart Atlas pharmacy services administration organization (PSAO). This position is responsible for creating a highly engaged network of pharmacies across independent, health systems, Medically Integrated Dispensary, and small chain pharmacy segments to ultimately drive a high performing pharmacy network. The position leads the team responsible for account management, customer service, performance program management and the creation of internal and external reimbursement resources/training materials. This position requires maintenance of a strong knowledge of healthcare, pharmacy trends and behavior change best practices.
The Sr Director will work with customers, internal and external partners, McKesson product owners, ISMC and RNA sales executives and senior level executives across business units to ensure strategic alignment and execution across Payer Solutions. In addition, this position will be responsible for managing external vendor contracting and oversight. The Sr Director, Pharmacy Engagement must have a track record of hands-on leadership, including demonstrated ability to manage remote team members, customer focus, execution, and collaboration.
1. Network Performance Management and Pharmacy Engagement
Develop and manage a highly engaged, high-performing pharmacy network across independent and small chain pharmacy segments.
Lead and empower the team responsible for account management, customer service, performance management, including customer performance segmentation, reporting, performance improvement management, execution of high performing chain code strategy and administration of performance rewards program, and development of internal and external resources/training materials.
Ensure strategic alignment across business units related to pharmacy engagement as well as gain executive and internal key stakeholder support as needed. (30% of time)
2. Network Performance Pharmacy Engagement
Lead pharmacy performance customer/field outreach strategy and team's overall execution to include email, calls, virtual and in-person consultations with select identified pharmacies.
Empower account management team to provide outreach to key customers groups and prospects to influence pharmacy behavior to drive engagement and performance. (20% of time)
3. HMA Collaboration/Partnerships
Collaborate internally across Pharmacy and Healthcare Solutions, including Pharmacy Solutions, Clinical Office, Marketing, Strategic Planning and Innovation and Product Development and Management and also externally with other McKesson business units to represent the needs of pharmacy members within our high-performing PSAO
Lead payer pharmacy performance programs and pilots including engagement and execution strategy to demonstrate results to Payers/PBMs
Oversee external performance vendor contracting and management (30% of time)
4. Team Development/Managerial Relationships
Provides leadership and management both in person and in remote capacity to team
Coach staff in both pharmacy performance knowledge as well as professional development opportunities.
(20% of time)
Typically requires 13+ years of professional healthcare experience and 6+ years management experience
8-10 years' experience working directly within the pharmacy or payer space.
Experience managing pharmacy facing or account management teams.
Knowledge of healthcare industry players and landscape, particularly retail pharmacy performance
Action oriented; strong ability to lead a process with many moving parts, bringing together multiple functions to deliver timely results
Demonstrated execution of best practices and improved results
Ability to build strong positive relationships with customers and key stakeholders, both internally and externally
Strong time management skills with the ability to work at a high level with minimal supervision
Must be highly self-motivated, decisive, accountable, and able to use sound judgment and prioritize key issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Contact Center /Hub services operations experience, a plus
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred in business, pharmacy, or related field. PharmD a plus
Position requires up to 30% travel
