We are seeking a legal specialist / paralegal to join the antitrust team. You will assist in project management for antitrust counseling, risk assessment, transactions, and communications initiatives. You will report to the Managing Chief Counsel, Antitrust and will also work directly with the Senior Counsel, Antitrust. The ideal candidate will have direct experience working as an antitrust paralegal working for a law firm, in-house, or government.
In this role, the legal specialist will:
Work with attorneys to conduct factual and legal research relating to antitrust issues
Assist attorneys with preparing antitrust presentations and trainings
Assist with project management for antitrust risk assessments, risk mitigation follow-up, and other special projects
Assist with the collection of information for, and preparation of, premerger notification filings
Categorize and curate guidelines, advice, and other guidance materials in document management systems; organize and maintain document management systems
Assist with drafting communications to internal stakeholders relating to antitrust topics
Identify opportunities for process improvements, develop plans, and manage implementation
Partner with compliance, litigation and business unit teams on antitrust issues
Coordinate with law firms and other service providers relating to billing
Support other departmental initiatives and deliverables as needed
4 - 8+ years previous experience as paralegal or legal specialist
Four-year college degree preferred or equivalent work experience
Proficient in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook
Prior experience with antitrust needed
Prior experience with litigation and M&A preferred
Prior background in economics or health care industry desirable
Excellent analytical and communication skills (verbal and written)
Strong organizational skills and problem-solving capabilities
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and foster relationships throughout the organization
Intellectually curious and interested in learning and expanding job role
Ability and willingness to operate independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment to own specific matters or projects from beginning to end
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize a rapidly changing workload
