Sheridan VA Health Care System

The Sheridan VA PGY1 Pharmacy Residency trains pharmacists in the setting of a rural VA health care system (VAHCS). The Sheridan VA is a mental health and primary care health care system for men and women who served their country in the Armed Forces.   The Sheridan VAHCS main facility is located in Sheridan, Wyoming and it is a 205-bed medical center, with five Community Based Outpatient Clinics located in Casper, Riverton, Cody (contracted), Gillette, and Rock Springs, Wyoming; two Telehealth Outreach Clinics located in Worland and Evanston, Wyoming; and one Outreach clinic in Afton, Wyoming. 

• Sheridan VA PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program builds on Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
• This unique program offers broad involvement in ambulatory care and mental health. Feedback from both residents and preceptors is valued and used to proactively customize each resident’s experience.
