Ardon Health’s residency program is a multi-practice site program. The resident will gain experience practicing at Ardon Health, Moda Health, and a local ambulatory care site.
Details of the Primary Practice Site
During your residency you will spend >50% of your time at Ardon. As a resident, you will join our clinical pharmacist team where you will be trained to provide personalized patient care. Specialty pharmacy care includes numerous disease states including chronic inflammatory, oral oncology, multiple sclerosis, hepatitis, HIV, hemophilia etc that continue to expand as new medications come to market. Specialty medications are typically expensive and have a complex profile that require intensive patient management. At Ardon, you will be trained to appropriately dispense these medications and provide patients with disease-specific education, medication counseling, and clinical support.
Throughout the Specialty Pharmacy rotation, you will receive thorough clinical and operational training that will prepare you to participate in Ardon’s clinical team. During this time, you will have the opportunity to engage in all aspects of daily pharmacy workflow including prescription verification, patient counselling, clinical assessments, order verification, prescription clarification, and provider outreach. Other miscellaneous responsibilities will include dispensing, packing and shipping, and other supportive tasks as needed.
Ardon Health will also be the site of the Pharmacy Administration rotation. Residents are provided the opportunity to accelerate their growth beyond entry-level professional competence in both patient-centered care and in pharmacy operational services. During your PGY1 Community Residency you will have the opportunity to work with Ardon’s leadership team on various projects and committees in order to increase your knowledge of pharmacy operations and to strengthen your personal leadership skills.
