Description of the Residency Program Ardon Health’s residency program is a multi-practice site program. The resident will gain experience practicing at Ardon Health, Moda Health, and a local ambulatory care site.
Details of the Primary Practice Site During your residency you will spend >50% of your time at Ardon. As a resident, you will join our clinical pharmacist team where you will be trained to provide personalized patient care. Specialty pharmacy care includes numerous disease states including chronic inflammatory, oral oncology, multiple sclerosis, hepatitis, HIV, hemophilia etc that continue to expand as new medications come to market. Specialty medications are typically expensive and have a complex profile that require intensive patient management. At Ardon, you will be trained to appropriately dispense these medications and provide patients with disease-specific education, medication counseling, and clinical support. Throughout the Specialty Pharmacy rotation, you will receive thorough clinical and operational training that will prepare you to participate in Ardon’s clinical team. During this time, you will have the opportunity to engage in all aspects of daily pharmacy workflow including prescription verification, patient counselling, clinical assessments, order verification, prescription clarification, and provider outreach. Other miscellaneous responsibilities will include dispensing, packing and shipping, and other supportive tasks as needed. Ardon Health will also be the site of the Pharmacy Administration rotation. Residents are provided the opportunity to accelerate their growth beyond entry-level professional competence in both patient-centered care and in pharmacy operational services. During your PGY1 Community Residency you will have the opportunity to work with Ardon’s leadership team on various projects and committees in order to increase your knowledge of pharmacy operations and to strengthen your personal leadership skills.
Details of Moda Health Moda Health is a multi-faceted organization with a full line of affordable health plans based primarily in the Pacific Northwest. Established in 1955, Moda has been helping members by providing innovative, evidence-based health plans, diverse provider networks, member programs and caring customer service. As a resident, you will actively contribute to multidisciplinary teams that develop and support clinical programs for our members in all lines of business, including Medicare, Medicaid and commercial groups. Learning activities will support programs through the integration of evidence-based clinical services that extend to formulary management, strategic benefit design, utilization management, drug information, clinical program development, case management, medication policy, specialty pharmacy, client management, medical pharmacy, and administration and operations management.

Requirements: Graduate or candidate for graduation of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited degree program, three letters of recommendation, letter of intent, curriculum vitae, official college transcripts, pre-employment drug screen and background check, intern licensure in Oregon prior to residency start date. Oregon pharmacist licensure must be obtained no later than Sept 30th. |
