Safeway / Regis University PGY1 Community-based Pharmacy Residency Program (Albertsons Companies)
This Safeway Pharmacy/Regis University Program is based in Centennial, Colorado just minutes from the Mile High City, home to 300 days of sunshine, a thriving cultural scene, diverse neighborhoods, and legendary sports and recreation. Our Safeway Pharmacy leadership work closely with the Colorado Board of Pharmacy and the Colorado Pharmacists Society to advance pharmacy practice. Our pharmacists can furnish and administer a growing list of medications, administer routine and travel immunizations, perform health screenings, and work as a member of the healthcare team to manage patient disease states. Each resident is assigned a home-base community pharmacy site where approximately 40% of time is spent. The community sites in Aurora and Denver's Mayfair neighborhood have a dedicated team of experienced preceptors to mentor the resident through the year. Both sites are located near to the Division office in Centennial where leadership and management and MTM learning experiences take place. Our advanced community-based patient care learning experiences are supplemented with ambulatory care-based patient care at Family Care Southwest and transitions of care through St. Anthony Hospital. Through our partnership with Regis University, the residents teach at the school of pharmacy one day per week, and participate in a teaching certificate program and the ASPIRE research certificate program.
