The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency is conducted by Winchester Medical Center (WMC) in Winchester, Virginia. The mission of the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program at WMC is to enable residents to become independent practitioners and to be confident in practicing in a variety of health care settings. The emphasis of this residency is on the impact of pharmacists and pharmacy leadership on patient care in the hospital setting through a multidisciplinary approach. Residents gain an appreciation for providing community service and the importance of providing education to patients and health care professionals. The residents also have an opportunity to participate in a teaching certificate program to gain experience in lecturing and precepting pharmacy students. Winchester Medical Center, a 495-bed, not-for-profit hospital in Winchester, VA, is a regional referral center offering a broad spectrum of services that includes diagnostic, medical, surgical and rehabilitative care. Pharm.D. or Pharm.D. candidate graduating 2020. We require, a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, academic transcript, three letters of recommendation (two letters from APPE preceptors).
