PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency - Phoenix, AZ

Banner Health’s Ambulatory Care Residency builds on the PharmD education and PGY1 experience to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists in ambulatory care. The residency provides the opportunity for independent practice, incorporating accumulated experience and knowledge into the provision of patient care. Based at Banner University Medical Center Internal and Family Medicine Clinics in Phoenix, the PGY2 resident will work alongside medical residents for a collaborative learning experience while working under collaborative drug therapy management protocols to provide direct patient care. Additional opportunities include drug therapy management within Banner Medical Group clinics, population health, telemedicine, and specialty pharmacy. 

PGY2 Oncology: Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center – Gilbert, AZ

The primary purpose of this PGY2 Oncology Residency is to train the resident to become a confident and well-rounded clinical oncology pharmacy specialist. Upon completion the practitioner will have the clinical skills to work in the acute or ambulatory care setting and be prepared for the board certification exam.  Required rotations include: hematology, stem cell transplant, breast, lung, GI, and GU oncology with elective and longitudinal learning experiences. PGY2 Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership - Phoenix, AZ

The Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) residency program is a 12-month PGY2 program and is organized into two distinct tracks- Acute Care Pharmacy Leadership and Population Health/Ambulatory Pharmacy Leadership. Candidates may apply to either track, and may rank either the Acute Care Leadership or Population Health / Ambulatory track in the match process. Highlights of the HSPAL program include:

• Broad experiences in health-system pharmacy administration and leadership including overall health system organization leadership, practice management, project management, human resources, financial leadership, supply chain management, health-system pharmacy compliance, and a number of elective learning experiences.
• Tailored learning experiences, organized into tracks within the Acute Care environment and Population Health/Ambulatory environment
• Completion of a PGY2 residency project, with a focus on program/service implementation, quality improvement, or pharmacotherapy outcomes
• A variety of teaching opportunities; including delivery of two ACPE-accredited continuing education seminars, journal/book club presentations, and didactic teaching in collaboration with local Colleges of Pharmacy
• Integration into Banner Pharmacy Services senior leadership team through longitudinal learning experiences, rotations, and snap shot learning experiences
• Exposure to health-system leadership; working with non-pharmacist and non-pharmacy leaders throughout the enterprise
• Staffing opportunities, based on HSPAL track, includes 24 shifts throughout the year
