The Community-based Pharmacy Residency Program is a combined program offered by Florida A&M University and Community Health Northwest Florida. The main emphasis of the program is primary care in rural and urban underserved populations. The program is designed to provide the Resident with a unique experience through postgraduate education and training to build the necessary knowledge and skills required to care for patients in the community setting. The Resident will learn how to take responsibility for medication use outcomes through patient interviews, evaluation, assessment, and monitoring. The Resident will be trained in distributive services, business administration, health and wellness interventions, immunizations, disease state education and monitoring, medication therapy management services, point of care testing, documentation of services, and billing. This will provide residents the confidence to practice in all areas of community pharmacy and in academia.

3. Three letters of reference (minimum): Reference writers are asked to complete the standard reference form within PhORCAS. Please do not have reference letters mailed to our program as they will not be considered.
4. PharmD Transcript(s)
Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD), eligible for immediate licensure by the Florida Board of Pharmacy.

The College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is housed in the New state of the art Pharmacy Building on FAMU`s Campus. The College has four (4) Branch Campuses located in Jacksonville, Tampa, Crestview, and Miami to serve as clerkship/externship sites. This school offers training in 4 areas, Doctorate Degrees in Pharmacology, Medicinal Chemistry, and Economic, Social and Administrative Pharmacy (ESAP).
