About Woman's Hospital PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program
For 50 years, Woman’s Hospital has paved the way for exceptional care for women and infants. With 168 adult and 84 NICU beds, Woman’s is the nation’s only independent specialty hospital for women and infants. The Joint Commission, Baby Friendly and Magnet accredited, Woman’s performs over 7,300 surgeries, 43,900 mammograms, 75,700 pap screens and 8,600 births annually. Collaboration is key to addressing community health needs, as evidenced in our partnership with the Mayor’s Healthy City Initiative that brings together hospitals, nonprofits and government entities to impact health outcomes. In partnership with LSU and DHH, our outpatient clinic provides services to impoverished women and enhances opportunities for medical residents. Woman’s has partnered with Mary Bird Perkins-Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center to combine expertise for breast/GYN cancer patients on Woman’s campus. Our hospital values guide us in all that we do: Respect, Innovation, Compassion and Excellence. A values-based culture and focus on communication, shared governance, work environment and role satisfaction are teamed with traditional satisfiers of pay, benefits, training and development to maintain high le...vels of engagement. What sets Woman’s apart is a culture that gives employees a voice. Since our doors opened in 1968, staff ideas have fueled improvements in patient care, workplace efficiency, cost savings, community outreach and employee engagement. Woman’s has made the Best Places to Work in Healthcare list for 11 consecutive years and is the only organization to have made the list every year since its inception. As the 17th largest delivery service in the U.S. and the largest in Louisiana, Woman’s Hospital singlehandedly moves the needle in a state that lags behind in health outcomes, making employees proud to live Woman’s values daily and work toward our mission to improve the health of women and infants.
