University of Cincinnati Winkle College of Pharmacy PGY1 Community-Based Residency
PGY1 community-based pharmacy residency programs build upon the doctor of pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes to develop community-based pharmacist practitioners with diverse patient care, leadership, and education skills who are eligible to pursue advanced training opportunities including postgraduate year two (PGY2) residencies and professional certifications.
Our program prepares residents to fill positions as clinical providers of advanced patient care services in community-based pharmacy settings with a focus on underserved communities. The program will equip the resident to:

We are recruiting for 4 residents with the following practice partners: St Vincent de Paul Charitable Pharmacy: Since September 2006, The St. Vincent de Paul Charitable Pharmacy is the only pharmacy in southwest Ohio dedicated to providing medication at no expense to the patient and professional pharmaceutical care to people in need from Hamilton, Butler, Warren and Clermont counties. In this setting, pharmacists provide community and clinical pharmacy services at no charge to the indigent, both uninsured and underinsured, patients of the Southwest Ohio area. Preceptors: Lydia Bailey, PharmD and Russell Currington PharmD Five Rivers Health Centers: Five Rivers Health Centers MedSurg Clinic provides medical and dental, behavioral health and pharmacy services to the poor, uninsured and homeless of Dayton, Ohio. The resident will be involved in all operations of a 340b pharmacy and provide direct patient care activities focusing on medication therapy management for both primary care clinic patients and the homeless population, collaborative drug therapy management, as well as participation in a transitions of care clinic to establish primary care for those recently discharge from an inpatient setting. Medication Managers/LifeLine Pharmacy (2 positions): Medication Mangers consultant pharmacists deliver patient focused and facility centric care through comprehensive customized medication management services to eliminate unnecessary medication, optimize formularies and streamline protocols. LifeLine24 is a privately owned, long-term care pharmacy specializing in high acuity patients/residents. The resident will be involved in providing Medication Regimen Reviews (MRR) which are the monthly review of each patient's clinical status to evaluate, optimize, and streamline medication therapy and staffing and management responsibilities for LifeLine 24 Pharmacy.
