Sumner Regional Medical Center PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency
Sumner Regional Medical Center’s Postgraduate Year One (PGY-1) Residency Program is a one year hospital-based program designed to prepare well trained clinical pharmacists for generalized clinical pharmacy practice. Each resident will be able to optimize the outcomes of our patients, support our health-system’s recruitment needs, and advance the profession of pharmacy. We offer a community based environment that affords the opportunity for more personal learning experiences. Practice experiences include pharmacy practice, internal medicine, antimicrobial stewardship, critical care, emergency medicine, transitions of care, management, anticoagulation, along with preparation of a project and committee involvement. Our strong relationship with local colleges of Pharmacy provides ample opportunity for precepting and allows the resident to pursue a Teaching Certificate from Lipscomb University if interested. Upon completion of the program, residents are awarded a residency certificate. The PGY1 pharmacy residency program conducted by Sumner Regional Medical Center is accredited by ASHP.
