The Atlantic Health System Post-Graduate Year 2 (PGY-2) Critical Care Pharmacy Residency is a twelve-month immersive training program designed to produce independent clinical pharmacy specialists with expertise in critical care pharmacotherapy. Residents will rotate at Atlantic Health System’s two academic medical centers (Overlook Medical Center, Morristown Medical Center) which combine for a total of 1239 licensed beds and 104 ICU beds. Required learning experiences include medical intensive care I and II, surgical intensive care I and II, neurosciences intensive care, cardiothoracic surgery, emergency medicine/trauma, and infectious diseases. Elective rotation experiences are offered in a variety of specialty areas including but not limited to pediatric intensive care/neonatal intensive care and toxicology. The resident will longitudinally participate in emergency response, clinical research, development of an ACPE-accredited continuing education program, medical resident education, critical care committee service, and clinical weekend staffing. Funding will be provided for travel and attendance at ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting and a second meeting at the discretion of the program. Atlantic Health System's PGY2 Critical Care program is in candidate status seeking ASHP-accreditation.
Applicants to the Atlantic Health System PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residency Program must meet all the following criteria:
Received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree program or have Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) certificate from the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy
Completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency program or one in the ASHP accreditation process prior to the start of the residency year
Be eligible for licensure as a Pharmacist by the New Jersey Board of Pharmacy
Be eligible to participate in the ASHP Match Program
