This opening is for the position of a Data Manager for the Program Evaluation and Research Unit (PERU), School of Pharmacy's Department of Pharmacy and Therapeutics. The Data Manager will work as part of our productive, collaborative team at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy Program Evaluation and Research Unit (PERU). For over ten years, our team has been dedicated to conducting high-quality implementation, evaluation, and research work across Pennsylvania and the United States.
In any given day, you may be working on 2-3 of the tasks below (across multiple projects):
* Perform SQL database administration, including:
o conduct regular maintenance and update;
o ensure data quality control;
o manage complex database schema changes, and etc.
* Write SQL queries to provide support to fulfill different types of data needs from internal and external stakeholders.
* Implement the data management best practices through collaboration with other Data Analytics and Informatics Functional Group members.
* Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to provide subject matter input (for example, data management).
* Develop documentations (data dictionary, protocol, etc.) to support data management.
Degree in related discipline, including health information, public health, or similar discipline. Strong data management skills. Proficiency with data management tool and query language (such as MySQL). Experiences with data analytical tools, such as R, MS Office and other data programs. Skilled in implementation of the relational databases, and the collection and integration of surveys and encounter data and other primary and secondary data sets. Experience with developing data management documents, such as data dictionary, protocol, preferred. Ability to work independently as well as effectively communicate and collaborate in a team environment
