CAHP Student Services Admin Specialist position **Please note that this position is temporary 1 year appointment and contingent upon the availability of work for the position.This position is benefit-eligible.**
The Student Services Administrative Specialist provides customer service and office management, including first level support and referral to students across all degree programs for the Center for Allied Health Programs. Additionally, the staff member coordinates student records, facilitates admissions events and logistics, and supports academic forms and processes. This position reports to the Director of Student Services.
Duties/Responsibilities: General Student Services tasks (50%): •Answer questions and provide general information related to admissions, compliance requirements, financial aid, and course registration to students and prospective students •Monitor MLS and OT general email accounts •Answer phones for CAHP Student Services •Enter confidential current and prospective student data into various databases •Provide database support for student programs and resources
Admissions and Recruitment tasks (50%): •Manage all aspects of the admissions interview procedures, which includes communicating with students, scheduling appointments, etc • Enter and check transcripts •Print and organize admissions materials for review •Create and maintain document filing system •Prepare and facilitate all academic paperwork including degree verification, course equivalency petitions, and other forms •Manage compliance records and processes including communication with students •Coordinate commencement RSVP and accessible seating logistics •Coordinate all recruitment event and travel needs including room reservation, etc

Required Qualifications: •High school diploma/GED and four years operations and/or student support experience. Training/education may be substituted for some of the ears of experience. •Previous customer service experience •Proficiency with computers and with the internet •Experience with databases and data entry •Experience with Microsoft Suite •Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills •Excellent verbal and written communication skills •Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with a wide range of people •Ability to handle high volume and high pressure with speed, accuracy, initiative and a positive attitude •Ability to work both independently and as a team member •Commitment to diversity and inclusivity
Preferred Qualifications: •Previous PeopleSoft experience •Understanding of post-secondary education environment •Previous University of Minnesota experience •Student service-related experience
