Director of Pharmacy - Full Time UPR Hospital Dr. Federico Trilla Carolina, Puerto Rico
Description: As a full time, exempt Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) Director of Pharmacy , you will oversee all pharmacy operations including planning, organizing, controlling, and supervising activities, according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and state and federal laws. You will recommend innovations in the practice and function of the pharmacy to hospital administration and carry out mutually agreed upon programs with assistance from a full support team.
Schedule: This position will work 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm. This position will work on-call one week every five weeks.
About the Facility: The UPR Hospital Dr. Federico Trilla, is a Joint Commission accredited facility that is licensed for 250 beds, consisting of 93 beds for Internal Medicine and Family Medicine, 50 beds for Pediatrics, 45 beds for Surgical Services, 20 beds for Psychiatry and 42 beds for Obstetrics & Gynecology. The average daily inpatient census runs between 125-150. More than 10,000 patients are admitted per year to the Hospital's different services. The pharmacy is currently open from 9am-6pm Monday - Friday and 7am-4pm Saturday & Sunday. The pharmacy provides services to the following departments: Opthalmology, Orthopedics, Surgery, Medicine, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Emergency Room, ICU, Nursery & NICU. HMS is the currently the pharmacy order entry system along with CPOE. Upcoming pharmacy projects include an Omnicell implementation. This hospital is a teaching site for 3 UPR medical residents and is the primary practice site for UPR pharmacy students. The management of the pharmacy is outsourced to CPS.

BS or PharmD from an accredited School of Pharmacy
Puerto Rico Pharmacist licensure in good standing
Minimum of 3 years of previous management experience in a healthcare/hospital environment.
Ability to solve problems, establish trust and credibility.
Demonstrated teaching, relevant professional publications and involvement with Professional organizations.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, respond to client concerns and work cooperatively with other staff.
